Stolen Rhodes is pleased to announce that it is releasing a five Song EP titled “From the Dark Side of 88”. This Tri-state Band is focused on writing and playing rock n roll music that appeals to a wide audience….music that is just plain fun to listen too.

The first two singles “Keeps us Moving” (Track 5) and “Beautiful Way” (Track 3) captures the bands original sound and their well scripted lyrics and musicianship. In many ways they are perfect band for today’s tough economic times. They sing about jobs, girlfriends, love lost and found and hope for a brighter future.

There complete body of work provides listeners a tour of this great country. Stolen Rhodes’ music will take you from the glow of the lights of a Jersey refinery, to a rail yard in the Midwest, to the beaches of California and a stop on a casino floor in Las Vegas. Each of there songs tells a story.

The End, a Montgomery County, PA, based band, performed their best show ever in Pheonixville at Steel City. They debuted the new song, “Palace At Farnese”, from the concept album “The End Of The End”. The crowd really got their toes tapping to the hit “A Million Things”.

The End is back in the studio working on new material.

Phoenixville, PA — The Montgomery County based band The End played to a receptive crowd at Steel City. The End played as a four-piece ensemble with two vocalists, an acoustic guitar and keyboards.

Highlights of the show included the original Christmas song, “6 B.C.”, which is about the year Christ was born. The audience enjoyed hearing a fresh take on holiday music. The encore was “Effervescence Light” that was a rollicking foot stomper.

It was vocalist Joe Mancini’s debut appearance who performed to rave reviews. His vocals blended flawlessly with co-singer Anthony Zinno to create sweet flowing harmonies.

Singer / songwriter Eric Visnov got to smile out over his acoustic guitar as he watched his songs performed to the cheering fans. What a great start for The End!

Phoenixville, PA — The End debuted to a maximum capacity crowd at Steel City.

The End is newly formed band from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Their sound takes American rock music into the future. They are currently in the studio working on their first two albums.

For last evenings gig, they played an acoustic set with vocals, guitar, jimbei and piano. The show featured the songs “The End Of The End” and “A Million Things”.

Old Pool Farm, Schwenksville, PA — The Philadelphia Folk Festival is an interesting experience. You never know what you will see… or hear. This works both ways — from the audience looking toward the stage or from the stage looking at the audience. It probably has the largest ratio of musicians that are in the audience than any other concert venue.

Thus, my surprise to see Get The Led Out scheduled for the special Thursday evening “Exclusive Camp Concert” that is put on for the overnight campers. What the heck was a band that bills themselves as the American Led Zeppelin doing at the Folk Fest? The must have been intimidating for the band:
1) They play songs that people know, so they have to play flawlessly.
2) They are to perform heavy rock music to a folk crowd.
3) Many in the audience are talented musicians.
4) They followed two talented folk bands, Jill Sobule and Deer Tick.

You would think that they would go over like a lead balloon? No. Le contraire. As soon as they started playing, people began flocking to the stage. Before long, there was standing room only. The crowd joined in and sang every song. Looking at the people standing next to you would cause you to pause. A mother dancing next to her daughter. People of all ages having the time of their life. In fact, it’s the only Folk Fest performance that I can remember hurting my ears.

As the show progressed, it felt like the audience and performers were feeding off each other. The crowd’s energy feeding the band, and in return the band’s energy feeding the audience. Only at the Folk Fest could such a miracle take place.

In the words of one Mistaken fan: ‘you aren’t writing about milkshakes…’

The Mistaken deal with lonely satellites, bunker-dwelling control-freaks, articulate terrorists and George Zapata, among others. Is it a thankless job? We think not.

The Mistaken were enlisted as back-up band for Drayfus Grayson on his ‘Go!’ CD, released 1998. We and Drayfus shared many a smokey dive together as ‘Three Guesses’, traversing the Westside underbelly of converted mortuaries and hen-houses masquerading as nightclubs.

The Mistaken have been associated with fellow conspirators The Brothers Dimm, and The Flower Machine. Mistaken members hail from Mount Washington, Lake Forest and Santa Ana, now known collectively as ‘Dreamland.’

Musical influences include Wilco, Squeeze, Ron Sexsmith, Beatles, et al. Then again, our record collections include albums by Crowded House, XTC, Esquivel, Annette, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, and Jerry Vale.

Should probably stop there.
